Cognitive Hypnotherapy is a modern approach to helping people achieve their goals which combines successful elements of Ericksonian Hypnotherapy, NLP, Evolutionary Psychology, Positive Psychology, and Cognitive Theory in order to make positive change quickly and permanently.
Cognitive Hypnotherapy was founded by Trevor Silvester at the Quest Institute London.

Through guidance by a Cognitive Hypnotherapist you can become aware of and reconnect to experiences which have formed the basis of your decisions.

Hypnosis

Hypnosis uses an altered state of consciousness, normally through trance. Trance is a safe and natural state that we go in and out of everyday. Have you ever completed your journey to work and not remembered most of it? Have you ever been ‘miles away’ when someone was talking to you? This is trance, and we can use this state to help identify patterns, thoughts and feelings which lead to the solution you want.

During hypnotherapy you will always be in control of what you say and do, as all hypnosis is self hypnosis. The Hypnotherapist acts as a guide, supporting you towards agreed outcomes. Usually people enjoy the feeling of relaxation that being hypnotised brings. There are no swinging pocket watches or years of talking about the past: just a practical and effective way in helping you to achieve what you want to achieve.

 

NLP

Neuro Linguistic Programming is a successful approach which looks at the way we process our thoughts (neuro), the communication we use (linguistic), how they connect to the body and our behaviour (programming) and how they can have a positive or negative effect on us. It is a range of techniques to help us understand our thought process and our behaviour. NLP is about self discovery and exploring how we can do what we do even better.
